Did you drink your avocado today?
Mixing avocados into drinks can go far beyond a breakfast smoothie. Here are some inventive and delicious alcoholic avocado drinks to try.
Avocado Martini
Add pureed avocado to your vodka and dry vermouth to make this twist on the classic martini. Mix a half cup of smooth avocado purée with 2 ounces of your favorite, and half an ounce of dry vermouth. To turn this into a sweet martini, add about 2 tablespoons of Dulce de Leche and sweetened condensed milk, and 1/4 cup of milk.
Avocado Daiquiri
The classic daiquiri is made up of rum, lime juice and sugar, and served over ice or blended. To make it an avocado daiquiri, combined one and a half ounces of rum, ¾ ounces of lime juice, some sugar and a quarter of the ripe avocado. Blend it all together, pour into a glass and enjoy.
Avocado Margarita
If you like tequila, you can’t ignore a good margarita. Make yours in avocado margarita by mixing ¼ of an avocado with 1 1/2 ounces of lime juice and agave nectar. Mix in 1.5 ounces of tequila and ¾ ounces of Cointreau. You can add ice and blend it all together in a blender, or use a cocktail shaker to chill and then strain. Add to the margarita experience by letting the rim of your glass add dipping it into salt.
Savory Avocado Cocktail With Tarragon
If you prefer your cocktails a little on the savory side, this avocado cocktail is for you. Start with one ripe avocado, 5 tarragon leaves, 1.5 ounces of Fresh Sour (or make your own mix using 2 cups lemon juice and 1 cup simple syrup), the juice of half a lime, 1.5 ounces tequila and 1.5 ounce of triple sec. Use a shaker to mix the ingredients, and strain into a glass rimmed with salt, or a mixture of sugar and salt. Add a lime wedge for garnish.
