Thanksgiving is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking of all the delicious recipes to try out. Here are some of our favorites that are little different from the traditional Thanksgiving dishes you normal hear of.
Delicious Thanksgiving Meals
What’s Thanksgiving without food? Let’s start preparing for the holidays with some innovative recipes.
- Marvin Woods’s Brussels sprouts, red pepper and avocado salad. This recipe is courtesy of famous chef and author Marvin Woods. It’s a little different, but oh so good. Especially for those who have always hated Brussel sprouts. There’s not a boiled sprout in sight and even sprout-haters will be pleasantly surprised. Find the recipe here.
- Green beans with bacon. I’m sure you’ve either tried or at least heard of the classic green bean casserole. Here is a new take on an old favorite that you may just like even more. It adds bacon, or even candied bacon for an extra kick of sweetness, to a beloved holiday dish. You can find the recipe here.
- Avocado pear-honey pastry rounds. Love avocado? Love pears? This appetizer is a little sweet, a little savory and totally delicious. It combines, avocado, pear, light and flaky pastries and cheese. Check out the complete recipe here.
- Chocolate brown sugar butter cake with spiced pumpkin frosting. This recipe combines an indulgent brown sugar butter cake with a delicious festive frosting. The frosting is made of cream and pumpkin puree, and perfectly combines multiple tastes of the holiday season. Find the recipe here.
Decorating For Thanksgiving
Serving delicious meals is the first step to throwing an unforgettable Thanksgiving party. The second step is making sure your décor is festive, but also not too over the top.
- The centerpiece. Keep your centerpiece simple. Stick with the theme and fill a wicker basket with seasonal fruit or vegetables. You can also add some autumn leaves for a more fall-like look.
- Table settings. Keep these simple as well. Use handmade place cards to name a place for each guest. If you have children, consider letting them decorate the place cards for a cute touch.
- Drinks. Instead of wine, serve drinks that are in the season. Hot apple cider or homemade pumpkin spice lattes are great for both adults and kids. The lattes can even be made without coffee for the children!
Thanksgiving is quickly coming up, so it’s best to start preparing now. This year, try one of these dishes for a something traditional, yet a little different.
