It’s sweet, cold and delicious. I’m talking about avocado ice cream!
If you’ve never made ice cream using avocado, you’re in for a treat. The flesh of this fruit is already so creamy, it only make sense to blend and freeze it into an ice cold treat. Here are a few of our favorite recipes. Try the one that sounds the best to you, or try them all!
Recipe #1
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
3 limes
¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
¾ cup reduced fat milk
Instructions:
Peel and pit avocados. Add them to your blender with the milk.
Zest 2 of your limes into the blender and then juice all 3 limes.
Blend until creamy.
Spread the mixture into a pan and freeze for at least 4 hours.

Recipe #2
Ingredients:
3 small to medium ripe avocados
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1.5 cups of whole milk
½ cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
*Note: this recipe uses an ice cream maker
Instructions:
Peel and pit avocados. Add avocado flesh, lemon juice, milk and sugar to your blender and blend. Transfer puree to a medium mixing bowl. Add the heavy cream and combine using a whisk. Place the mixture into the refrigerator until it reaches 40F or below, approximately 4-6 hours.
Process the cold mixture in your ice cream maker according to the directions. Keep an eye on it, as it will set quickly.

Recipe #3
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
1 can coconut milk
½ cup heavy cream (for dairy free, use additional coconut milk instead)
½ cup sugar
½-1 teaspoon rum
Pinch of salt
A squeeze of fresh lime juice
Optional: toasted coconut for garnish
*Note: this recipe uses an ice cream maker
Instructions:
Peel and pit avocados. Place flesh into a blender. Add the coconut milk, cream, sugar, rum, salt and lime juice and blend until smooth. Chill your puree.
Once chilled, process in your ice cream makes per the instructions. Serve with toasted coconut as garnish.
